If, in today’s age of college sports, you still believe a coach is going to choose coaching you over a great opportunity like USC or some other big-time university, then you also believe I buy lottery tickets to support education.

Phew. So just a few days of being coachless and the Trojans bring back one (or two, or three, or four!) of their own.
Hopefully some magic will happen and we can take Chow back from the Bruins!

I know I already posted a picture of this today… but this is a nice, clear close up of a well-painted bear. Cardinal & Gold baby!

because I care, I will do my USC liveblogging over here. I don’t want to lose anyone again for non-sequitur sports related outbursts!

FIGHT ON & BEAT THE IRISH!
Charlie Weis watching Notre Dame get destroyed by USC last year.
Here’s to another stopping of the Irish by the Trojans later today!
This is why I love USC’s head coach, Pete Carroll.
On the week of their annual showdown with arch rival Notre Dame, Coach Carroll decided to break up the monotony of practice by holding an impromptu slip-and-slide competition. With the offense and defense tied at the end of practice, coach decided that the winner would be determined by 43-year-old defensive line coach Jethro Franklin and 58-year-old offensive line coach Pat Ruel.
The fact that he’s maintained the amount of success that he has in such a demanding field is remarkable, but it’s his ability to make it look so easy and have so much fun doing it that really blows my mind. And c’mon, how can you dislike a guy that uses his authority as head coach of a college football powerhouse by forcing two of his coaches to act like children.

Damn straight. Carroll really is my favorite coach ever. And no matter how much some of you may hate USC, and I get that, you have to admit - as most do - that he’s a class act and a good coach.
