Done? Why? Because he’s right? by flagging this, you are all hypocrites because you are promoting hatred against Christians. I am not ashamed to admit that I’m a Christian and I agree that there is something wrong when Christians are not openly allowed to pray in schools or to celebrate Christmas. Why aren’t we as Christians allowed to openly practice our faith, but other religions can? Why do we as Christians get hated on more than gays do? I am not against gays (I have gay family members that I love very much) but as Christian I was bullied in schools by students (including gays) … So am I wrong for being a Christian and standing up for my beliefs?

If your belief is that any one religion should get priority over others in public institutions, that belief is poorly founded. If your belief is that “gays” shouldn’t serve in the military, and shouldn’t be given the same rights as heterosexuals, that belief is ignorant and completely baseless.

Although your personal experience may vary (by being surrounded by shitty, bigoted people, much like Rick Perry), Christians in America do not get “get more hatred than the gays” or stopped from “practicing their faith while other religions can”. Remember the uproar about the proposed Mosque near Ground Zero? Do you remember the Jewish kids in school who were expected to go to class during their holidays? That shit doesn’t happen to Christian churches, crosses made out of WTC debris, or students on Christmas. Look around you. There are a lot more Christmas trees and baby Jesus’ around town than menorahs, pentagrams or Spaghetti Monsters, and nobody has an issue with that. As a whole, Christians are far from being persecuted for being Christians in America.

I am not promoting a hatred of anything, and I don’t believe that the 300k+ of people who have a problem with Perry’s video are either. I’m agreeing with the notion that saying ”There’s something wrong in this country when gays can serve in the military” is pretty fucking hateful, violates the youtube TOS, and has no place in a public office. Campaigning on “put more religion in publicly-funded institutions” is one thing, but pushing the “why is Obama giving these fucking homos rights?” agenda is deplorable.

We Are So Screwed, Tea Party Debate Edition

Applause lines:

  • The uninsured should be left to die.
  • Said uninsured parents should have daughters who die unnecessarily of cervical cancer.
  • A Fed Chairman who tries to fulfill his mandate by reducing unemployment is guilty of treason.

Boo lines:

  • Muslims are not collectively responsible for 9/11.
  • The children of illegal immigrants should not be denied the chance to go to college.
  • We should not pass an extraordinarily regressive tax cut.

New York’s 9th District Representative, Democrat Anthony Weiner, reacts to a Republican-sponsored bill that would redefine the definition of rape in an attempt to reduce government funding of abortion.

Some quotes:

“Don’t let anyone who supports this bill ever say to you, ‘I’m for less government regulation.’ You’ve gotta be kidding. You can’t vote for this thing and then say you’re for less government regulation. This is the regulation of an individual woman in a room with her doctor — and Congressman Pitts, evidently.”

“I think most Americans of all political stripes believe there’s a basic right to privacy. Is there anything more basic than your body?”
