How can people not want to elect this man? I don’t get it. Neither does he.

A-fuckin’-men…. can’t wait for monday where she gets to debut her own show

The AP called a lot of McCain and Palin’s statements at the RNC “stretching the truth.”  Says Rachel Maddow, “We’re going to to go out on a limb here on Countdown and call it “lies.”  We’re also going to call the repeated telling of those lies, lying.”  The charge that Obama authored two memoirs, but not a single major law or reform: lie.  Sen. Obama wants to raise your taxes if you aren’t in the wealthiest 1% of the country: lie.  Obama never worked with Republicans to pass legislation: lie.

I mean, these aren’t hard facts to look up.  It is pretty easy to get right.  Essentially, it means McCain/Palin are deliberately lying or they are just dumb — neither one of which will get you into the White House.  Unless of course, you are President Bush, where a precise combination of the two will get you re-elected.

I really love Rachel Maddow.

The RNC talks and talks and talks about a small government that doesn’t interfere and is all about giving American’s choices. However, they don’t include choices such as abortion or gay marriage. They also, notice, never think we should let the American people vote on whether or not to go to war, whether or not we want a deregulated healthcare or social security system.

You can’t have it both ways, Newt. You can’t be about choices for the American people, and praise votes on certain issues like marriage rights, but not other issues — one’s that I would argue truly affect all of us here.

robot-heart:

Gingrich leads crusade for traditional marriage by setting good example…oh, wait.

I think it’s also ironic that Gingrich is arguing that courts opening up marriage to homosexuals is a violation of privacy and equality, rather than an affirmation of them. In my opinion, the move to legalize gay marriage in California is not “legislating morality” but rather protecting the rights of many Californians. Newt wants you to believe that denying people their rights is the American thing to do. Writing laws telling people what they can or can’t do in their personal lives, in my opinion, sounds much more like unwanted government interference to me.

Jon Stewart pointing out the amazing double-standard coming from the right in the defense of Sarah Palin. I’m too angry to laugh, but if I weren’t, this would be really funny.

Also, with all the faux sexist outrage coming from the right, can anyone point to the Democratic leadership that is questioning her fitness to serve as VP because of the fact that she is a mother of five? I’ve heard a bunch of legitimate criticism, but I’ve never once heard the ‘bad mother’ card that we’ve heard every Republican up in arms about being played.
